Popular Nollywood actress Jayeola Kuti, also known by her stage name as Jaiye Kuti, shouted out in fear and begged her followers to pray for her and her children after getting stuck in traffic at midnight.
The actress posted information on Instagram about how she left Ikeja, Lagos, at 7 p.m., but that they hadn't returned home by midnight.
Jaiye Kuti and her children had to exit their car after spending hours stuck in traffic, handing the wheel back to the driver, and start walking.
She referred to the circumstance as "pathetic," and she pleaded with the government to intervene on the Apapa Wharf Road to stop trailers from operating and hindering other vehicles.
She penned:
"Will you pray for us? This is very sad! Could the government take action to improve the trailers on Apapa Wharf Road? My kids and I are walking home at night.
In a follow-up, Jayeola Kuti thanked God for ensuring her safety while also expressing concern for the well-being of her driver, who is still snarled in traffic. Added her:
The driver of my car is still on the bridge. May God protect him. Thank God for models. Thank you; I'm presently with the kids at home. Godspeed, everyone, Eseun gan ni. I hope the government will investigate this Apapa Wharf road problem.*
