TRAIN ATTACK: Igueben train station under attack, scores kidnapped.

It has been claimed that a group of unidentified assailants entered a train station in the Igueben Local Government Area of Edo State with the intention of kidnapping an undetermined number of passengers.

According to reports that reaching bendelnews on Sunday morning, the victims were reportedly waiting to board a train that would take them to Warri in the state of Delta when the attackers rushed the station and began firing wildly.

According to the story, security agents had been dispatched to the bushes located all around the region in order to rescue the victims and apprehend the kidnappers who had escaped.

In spite of the fact that it is not yet known whether or not there was a recorded casualty (s), the material that was made available to newsmen claimed that travellers sustained bullet wounds.

Chidi Nwabuzor, the Police Public Relations Officer in Edo, released a statement confirming the attack.

 In the statement, he explained that the perpetrators of the kidnapping were armed with an AK-47 and had invaded the train station on Saturday evening.
