Yul Edochie made this information public in a video that he uploaded on YouTube. In the video, he revealed that he received the calling to become a minister of God many years ago, but he did not go through with it because he did not believe the time was appropriate.
Edochie went on to say that the calling had recently grown stronger, and it had grown even stronger when he understood that God had made him successful so that he might utilize his reputation to spread the gospel and affect the lives of others.
"I have been given a mission from God to serve him and to act as his minister. My life's mission is to serve as a preacher of God's word and to do it via deeds rather than words alone. This conversation took place a very long time ago—in fact, many years ago.
"But I always got the feeling that the time was not quite right or that it had not yet come. But at this point, it's quite powerful. It seems like the right time to act. The Lord has been good to me throughout my life, and by his grace, I have grown to become one of the most successful and well-known performers in Nigeria and all of Africa.
"I have come to the conclusion that God used me as an actor so that I may one day serve as one of his ministers and make use of the reputation that he has given me to preach the word of God. He explained, "Becoming a minister of God and having an impact on people's lives is my goal in life."
Edochie stated that he would not give up his role as a pastor, but he would make certain that his endeavors were in accordance with the Bible.
