JUST IN: Nnamdi Kanu's terrorist charges are changed by the Buhari administration.

Nnamdi Kanu, the head of the Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPOB, has been charged with seven counts of terrorism by the Nigerian government, but those allegations have been changed.

Kanu was hit with an updated allegation of terrorism that included seven separate counts from the government.

All of the charges against Kanu that were previously upheld by the court are included in the amended charge that has been marked with the designation FHC/ABJ/CR/383/2015 and which has been entered before the Federal High Court in Abuja.

The Federal Government stated in a broadcast that Kanu had issued a lethal threat, stating that anyone who disobeyed IPOB's sit-at-home order in the South-East should write their wills. This order required people to remain indoors.

According to the allegations presented by the government, in 2018 Kanu allegedly issued multiple broadcasts that incited his followers to murder security personnel and their families.

It was mentioned that the offence constituted a penal offence according to Section 1 (2) (h) of the Terrorism Prevention Amendment Act, 2013, which was passed in 2013.
