The three-year-old son of popular music artist Davido Adeleke, Ifeanyi Adeleke, has passed away.
The young Adeleke is believed to have drowned in a pool at the Family Residence.
According to a family source who asked to remain anonymous until an official statement, "The boy was inside water for too long and they hauled him out and rushed him to the hospital."
At a private hospital in Lagos this evening, his death was officially verified. Davido was seen teaching Ifeanyi how to swim earlier today, before Ifeanyi passed away. Ifeanyi kept flapping his legs as the music star carried him about in the water.
Davido, who was undoubtedly pleased with his son's performance, was overheard saying that the boy picked everything up quickly.
"This one go learn quick," he said. Davido and Chioma's tragedy comes a few years after D'banj, a prominent Nigerian artist, and his wife Lineo Didi lost their first child in a drowning incident in 2018.
At the age of just one year, Daniel Oyebanjo III drowned in the pool at Dbanj's home in Ikoyi, Lagos State.
