Oluwatobiloba Amusan will get a home and N5 million from Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, according to his announcement.
In Ogun State, Amusan was also named a youth ambassador.
"I announced her (Amusan) appointment as Youth Ambassador in Ogun State and a grant of a house, as well as a contribution of five million Naira in honor of her world records and other great achievements," the governor tweeted on his official Twitter account.
A native of the state who is known as the "queen of the track" in Nigeria created history in the 100-meter hurdles event at the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Oregon, United States of America, in June.
The 25-year-old athlete from Nigeria was the first to accomplish the feat.
At the semi-final stage of the World Athletics Championships, Amusan burned to a 12.12-second world record.
The next day, she won the world championship in the final.
The athlete with dark complexion is the current 100-meter hurdles champion for Africa, the Commonwealth, and the world.
