Kaduna Attack: 40 Kaduna worshipers kidnapped, N200m ransom demanded

40 worshipers were taken in Kajuru's Bayan Kasuwa Quarters, Kasuwan Magani.

SOKAPU President Dr. Awemi Maisamari confirmed the event to newsmen in Kaduna on Monday, September 19. He claimed the robbers sought N200m ransom from the victims' families.

SOKAPU said the occurrences occurred September 12 and 13 in Kasuwan Magani, Kajuru LGA, a few kilometers from the city.

Southern Kaduna lacks breathing room. Terrorists, jihadists, bandits, and armed ranchers have destroyed southern villages, he added.

"The latest mass abductions occurred on September 12 and 13, 2022, in Kasuwan Magani, Kajuru LGA, Southern Kaduna.

Kasuwan Magani is 20km south of Kaduna on the Kaduna-Kafanchan Express route and has the state's largest weekly market.

On September 12, terrorists seized six persons in Ungwan Fada.

"With no safeguards taken to prevent a recurrence, terrorists attacked the Cherubim and Seraphim Church on September 13 during a night vigil in Bayan Kasuwa, Kasuwan Magani Town.

"They took 60 individuals from the church and nearby homes. Some were too young, old, or had health issues, so they couldn't accept them all.

"While fleeing to their camps, they assaulted Janwuriya hamlet, near Kasuwan Magani, and seized two more people.

45 individuals have been taken thus far. Yesterday, September 18, 2022, the abductors called several local residents and said they were holding 40 individuals.

"They sought N200 million, but talks are ongoing. We don't know the 5 missing people's identities or fates.
