Despite the Supreme Court of Nigeria's decision on who would be the genuine governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state, Senator Obinna Ogba, who represents Ebonyi Central Senatorial Zone in the national assembly, urged people to have faith in the court on Sunday.
Ogba emphasized that there is still one more appeal case awaiting a decision from the Supreme Court and urged the audience not to give up hope that the PDP's national leadership will soon settle on the party's official governorship candidate for the state.
At a solidarity gathering held at his campaign headquarters, the senator announced this while speaking to stakeholders and throngs of fans.
"I've called this gathering to express my gratitude to all of you for your solidarity with my lowly self and to reassure you that you won't be let down," he stated.
"We have two cases before the Supreme Court, and one of them has already been determined, not in our favor. One of us is still in court.
He emphasized, "I am a member of the ordinary people, and the judiciary is the hope of a common man. I still have hope in the court."
