Transfer Talk: Chelsea Resumes Talk On Christian Ronaldo As Summer Window Deadline Draws Close.

Chelsea has once more been given the opportunity to acquire Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo's agent, Jorge Mendes, contacted Chelsea about a possible deal for the former Juventus and Real Madrid superstar.

Ronaldo is eager to play for a team in the Champions League this year, and Chelsea is in need of a frontman.

Earlier in late July, Mendes spoke with Blues co-owner Todd Boehly, but Blues manager Thomas Tuchel is rumoured to have been hesitant to give the go-ahead.

Barcelona wanted roughly £30m for the 33-year-old player they signed for free just six months ago, which caused Chelsea's attempt to get Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona to fail.

Mendes has since made a comeback with Ronaldo as Chelsea scrambles to add strength as the window closes.

According to the Metro story, the Chelsea manager continues to have doubts about signing Ronaldo of Portugal, although it is unclear if his determination has been affected by the club's failure to make additions.
