Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of Paris Saint-Germain, has refuted claims that Kylian Mbappe was responsible for his dismissal from the team.
Last month, Pochettino's departure was formally announced after the Argentine once more failed to win the Champions League.
Since then, rumours have persisted that Mbappe was responsible for his firing.
Mbappe, meanwhile, has categorically denied any involvement in Pochettino's dismissal.
"I concur that, in my opinion, PSG did everything within its power to keep Kylian.
He's one of the top players in the world of football right now, and I believe PSG persuaded him to stay because they had the means to do so. However, I don't believe Kylian is the one who came up with the new initiative either [that I left].
Pochettino stated to Infobae that "those who rule, in this instance the president, are people who would have considered that the most practical thing was a new project in the club."
