I shot her after I noticed that she gives other men more attention than me-30-year old jealous lover

A 30-year-old man who was in a jealous relationship with his girlfriend and felt she was not giving him enough attention admits to shooting her.

The defendant, Seun Ojo, stated that his girlfriend, Enny, had been reportedly engaged in prostitution while he was being ignored and paid attention to other guys.

The incident took place in Owo, which is the administrative centre of the Owo Local Government Area in Ondo State.

Ojo, who claimed that he had been having issues with Enny for some time prior to the incident, was among 45 other suspected criminals who were paraded at the headquarters of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, also known as Amotekun Corps.

Ojo was one of the suspects who claimed that he was involved in the incident.

"Enny is the name of my lover, and she works as a prostitute in Owo. She frequently visits the Ikare crossroads." I decided to shoot her after observing that she paid more attention to other men than she did to me.

"This has been an ongoing problem for quite some time. On that specific day, she reiterated what I had already cautioned her against, and as a result, I became upset and shot her. But she did not die. It has come to my attention that she is currently being treated in a medical facility.

"I'm not a member of a cult, and I've never pulled the trigger on a living soul in my whole life. The gun that I used against her belonged to my father, who is an avid hunter. I stole it from him. My grandfather does use the firearm to go hunting and kill animals.

Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, the Amotekun Commander in the state, revealed that in an endeavour to rid the state of crime, the corps has apprehended a number of suspects believed to be involved in armed robberies, kidnappings, and rapes, among other crimes.

He added that charges will be brought against the individuals in court after the investigations have been concluded.
