Dozens of terrorists killed by troops in Borno.

In an airstrike in the Bama Local Government Area of Borno State, the Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation Hadin Kai killed numerous Boko Haram/Islamic State of West African (ISWAP) militants.

On August 5, 2022, in the infamous Boko Haram headquarters of Gazuwa, which is 8 kilometres from the Bama Local Government Area, members of the two terrorist groups were reportedly neutralised in the midst of their internal fighting.

A counter-terrorism expert and security analyst in Lake Chad claims that the destructive air interdiction mission was carried out following a string of surveillance missions that revealed a significant terrorist presence in the region.

They were engaged in a struggle when the Super Tukano attacked, striking them devastatingly and killing a large number of Boko Haram and ISWAP militants, according to the source.

The source added that in keeping with its use of air power to destroy insurgents' capabilities, the air strikes successfully eliminated another group of terrorists along the axis of Gargash.

Unknown numbers of terrorists were neutralised during the process, the source claims.

According to reports, the tremendous air and ground assaults carried out by the soldiers of Operation Hadin Kai over the past few weeks have completely upended life in the camps of Jama'at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da'wah wa'l-Jihd, Boko Haram.

But it was discovered that at least 20 terrorists and their families from the Njimiya camp had turned themselves in to the soldiers of the 21 Armoured Brigade Bama out of fear of being targeted by airstrikes.

According to a different source, the ongoing attacks have caused widespread displacement and starvation in most of the terrorists' camps, leaving them with no choice but to either surrender, remain in hiding without food, or flee the jungle and perish.

Recall that in Borno State, troops killed Alhaji Modu, popularly known as "Bem Bem," another infamous Boko Haram commander, along with 27 other fighters.
