Bogoro LG Chairman warns villagers not to harbour strangers with questionable characters.

Traditional leaders and the local population have been cautioned by the Executive Chairman of the Bogoro Local Government Area of Bauchi State, Hon. Iliya Habila, against harbouring individuals of questionable character.

Habila issued the warning on Wednesday in Bogaro while speaking to traditional and religious authorities as well as other interested parties.

The Executive Chairman admonished people not to put up with behaviour that could compromise the peace and security in their particular areas.

He further cautioned the Fulani group leaders and traditional chiefs against hosting outsiders whose mission and goals were unknown in the region.

He claimed that although Bogoro is currently tranquil, it is encircled by places that pose significant security risks, necessitating the need for caution when hosting guests.

The Executive Chairman issued a warning to the traditional leaders not to accept or host any strangers without first having the authorities thoroughly investigate them in consultation with Fulani leaders.

The chairman cautioned farmers and herders against enforcing regulations themselves in the event of a miscommunication regarding their connection, particularly during the rainy season.

Habila urged the herders not to interfere with farmlands while asking the farmers not to block livestock trails in order to maintain peaceful ties between them.

The village and hamlet leaders, security personnel, members of young tribal organisations, and representatives of religious organisations all thanked the local government chairman for providing the forum for the discussion in their own statements.
