UN orders Nigeria to release Nnandi Kanu immediately and compensate him for violating his human rights.

The family of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPOB, has expressed gratitude to the UN for charging Nigeria and Kenya in the secessionist's capture and incarceration.

According to sources, the Nigerian and Kenyan governments were held accountable by the UN Human Rights Council Working Group on Arbitrary Incarceration for the arrest, extraordinary rendition, torture, and ongoing detention of Kanu without due process.

The UN asked that the Nigerian government free the secessionist right away, without conditions, and compensate him appropriately for his rights violations.

In response, Kanunta Kanu, the IPOB leader's younger brother, praised the choice and thanked everyone who had worked to secure Kanu's release from the Department of State Services' (DSS) detention.

The Kanu family praises the UN for condemning #MaziNnamdiKanu's exceptional rendition and ordering Nigeria to free and compensate him, according to the tweet.
