After completing a deal from Feyenoord, Tyrell Malacia has been Erik Ten Hag's first acquisition as Manchester United manager.
After spending the previous two days getting checked out at the team's Carrington training facility, the 22-year-old Holland left defender has signed a four-year contract worth £12.9 million plus a further £1.7 million in add-ons, according to United.
Tyrell Malacia has signed a deal with Manchester United that runs until June 2026 with an option to extend for an additional year, according to a statement.
Malacia is the first hire made by United under Ten Hag, and he will arrive in time to depart on Friday for a preseason tour of Thailand and Australia.
Malacia, who played for Feyenoord for 136 games and the Netherlands five times, said: "It's a fantastic feeling to have joined Manchester United." This is a new chapter for me; I'm playing in a new league with new teammates under a fantastic management.
I am aware of the traits he possesses and the standards he has for his players because I have faced off against his teams in the Eredivisie.
'While I am aware that I have a long way to go and will continue to grow, I can assure the United supporters that I will give everything I have on the field each time I don the red shirt.
"I'll always be grateful to Feyenoord for everything they have done for my family and me." If not for them, none of this would be possible.
I'm now prepared to concentrate on the future with United and support the success of my new team.
Tyrell is an energetic, dynamic young footballer with exceptional experience for his age, including five seasons in the Eredivisie, a European final, and full international honours for the Netherlands, according to John Murtough, director of football at Manchester United.
"We look forward to watching him continue to grow in the years to come under the direction of Erik ten Hag and his coaching staff."
Everyone at Manchester United extends a warm welcome to Tyrell.
