The news of Ada Ameh's demise stunned fans and colleagues on Monday.
Ameh died Sunday night. She was known for her role as Emu in The Johnsons.
Cast and crew from The Johnsons have also lamented the actress.
Actor Charles Inojie, who played Mr. Johnson and Emu's husband, posted a photo of the actress on Instagram.
"It took a time to authenticate this awful news before becoming public under advice from Ada's manager, who was on his way to Warri to acquire physical confirmation of the horrible news that hit us all this morning," he wrote.
“He's just called from Warri and verified our darkest worries. We've lost Emuakpor Johnson.
"With deep sense of grief, entire resignation to God's will, Native Media Tv, cast and crew of @theofficialthejohnsons announce the passing of our dear sister, friend, colleague, and Matriarch of The Johnsons clan Ada Obande Ameh (aka Emuakpor Johnson).
“To all our teeming admirers throughout the world, we have lost a rare and brilliant diamond, but celebrate the life of a legend who everyday placed smiles on faces and spread love in homes.
"We join your prayers for the family," we say. May God give them the strength to endure this loss.
ADA, you will be missed, but your memory will go on forever. Love you."
Actress Seun Osigbesan, who played Jennifer and Emu's kid, also paid respect to the late actress.
She authored "Mama. I've had a hard day. I never thought I'd post your RIP, maama.
I'm so devastated and broken that tears prevented me from typing.
My mom, It's hard to imagine you're gone, let alone accept it as fact. The news of your death hurts. Like a missile exploded in a city.
"I kept repeating 'everything is well' as I grieved; you will never be forgotten, maama." NEVER!!! RIP maama
The actress was also praised on Africa Magic's Instagram page.
Farewell, Ada Ameh. Your passion gave families so much joy. You're gone. From Africa Magic, " the post said.
It said, "A rare diamond has left us, but she'll always be in our hearts. You brought love, light, and humour to our screens and homes, ADA AMEH.
"Your cheerful nature will be missed forever. Rest. We miss you. AdaAmeh #GoneButNotForgotten"
In October 2020, Ada Ameh lost her 30-year-old daughter Aladi Godgift.
