Six top terrorist commanders turned themselves in to troops in the North-East on July 13, 2022, according to a statement from the Defence Headquarters on Thursday.
Mala Hassan, a governor, Jafar Hamma, a three-star commander, Musa Bashir, a Chief Anur, Ali Madagali, a Munzur, Buba Dahiru, a Munzur, and Abbali Nakib Polisawa are among those who have surrendered, according to the military high command.
In addition, it was reported that 3,858 Boko Haram militants and their families gave themselves up between July 1 and July 14, 2022.
Major General Benard Onyeuko, the director of defence media operations, revealed this when describing to reporters the activities of the military between June 30 and July 14.

Additionally, 3,858 Boko Haram terrorists and their families—505 men, 1,042 women, and 2,311 kids—rendered between July 1 and July 14, 2022.
"All of the Islamic State of West Africa Province's/Boko Haram's surrendered terrorists and their families were profiled and documented."
He added that during the time under consideration, troops engaged in many operations and killed over 63 terrorists.
According to Onyeuko, "On July 11, 2022, the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI launched air interdiction operations at Tumbum Jaki and Tumbum Murhu near Lake Chad in Borno State, following the receipt of a report from intelligence on the actions of the rebels in the region.
"The effective airstrike killed a number of Boko Haram terrorists and destroyed their base of operations. Accordingly, evidence from the area suggests that the airstrike eliminated over 21 militants.
Therefore, between July 1 and July 14, 2022, troops killed 42 terrorists and detained 10 suspected terrorists.

Onyeuko reported that soldiers on a combined border patrol in the South-West zone seized two vehicles carrying 163 fifty kilogrammes of foreign rice along the Ifo-Abeokuta in the Ifo Local Government Area and the Ijimu-Tata in the Imeko Afon Local Government Area of Ogun State.
