Muhammadu Buhari, the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, explains why he won't be giving his children an inheritance.
Speaking on July 13 in Daura, Katsina State, the president underlined the importance of having an intellectual impact on children in addition to a material one.
He pleaded with parents to instil in their kids morals, respect for established authorities, and leading meaningful lives through ongoing education.
His words are;
"After guiding the nation, I spent more than three years in prison. At that point, I realised and explained to my children that your true wealth is not what you have achieved in life, but what you have in your mind.
My main goal has always been to prepare the kids to be useful in any situation. I explained to my kids—especially the girls—that getting married requires a bachelor's degree.
They are well aware that I won't be leaving anything behind for them to inherit.
Making ensuring the kids get the education they need will be my greatest legacy to them.
We must make sure the kids have a good education. Their education shouldn't be geared toward landing government jobs.
Government employment is no longer available. Governments are getting more compact, nimble, and effective because to technology.
Now, the focus should be on developing technical creation and application skills. We asked everyone in level 12 and below to stay at home during the Covid-19, and amazingly, the systems worked well.
