The presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has urged the appropriate authorities to find and punish those responsible for the assault on the Kuje Medium Security Custodial Center on Tuesday in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
In a statement released in Abuja by his media officer, Mr. Tunde Rahman, Tinubu, an APC leader, made the call.
He specifically denounced the terrorist attack on the centre and referred to the country's ongoing terror acts as alarming.
In addition to urging Nigerians to be watchful and unified behind constituted authorities, the former two-term governor of Lagos State stated that any inmates who escaped the facility ought to be re-arrested and brought back to it.
We still have a lot to do to keep these terrible forces in check, as evidenced by the ongoing attacks against government targets and defenceless people.
He denounced the heinous attack and urged the administration to go after the perpetrators and escaping detainees right once.
Tinubu stated that Nigerians must all continue to be watchful and unified while urging for thorough investigations into the tragedy.
He continued by saying that this time required both deep reflection and national solidarity.
However, he argued that Nigerians should back President Muhammadu Buhari's administration in its efforts to fight militants and stand up to agents of evil.
