JUST IN: National Assembly Under Siege By The Nigeria Labour Congress Nation Wide Protest.

The Nigerian Labour Congress protested in the National Assembly on Wednesday.

Before the Labour Union arrived, fierce-looking security personnel were scattered across the facility.

Massive pedestrian and vehicular traffic made entering the complex impossible.

The Senate sessions, which began at 11 with the opening prayer by Senate President Dr. Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, went into a closed-door session when the NLC arrived.

Ayuba Wabba spearheaded Wednesday's demonstration.

Wednesday's demonstration includes students and their leadership. Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities, and National Youth Council leadership are also present.

The leadership of the National Assembly had not yet addressed protesters at the time of filing this report. However, the NLC, which identifies with ASUU, is "demanding replacement of the inconsistent IPPIS with U3PA payment platform; respect/honour collective bargaining agreement freely and mutually reached with ASUU," among other things.
