CAN: Christan Association Of Nigeria holds special prayer session to counter bandits in Taraba, Nigeria.

A prayer session against bandits has been organised in Taraba State by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).

Rev. Micah Dopah, who was leading the congregation at the prayer rally organised by the Teckan/Eckwa block of CAN, stated that the rally's goal was to cripple the inhumane deeds of bandits that have resulted in resident murders, kidnappings, and other vices throughout the state and the entire country.

He bemoaned that because of the perception that a segment of the country is oppressing the majority, Nigerians were on the verge of choosing the alternative of separating the nation.

"The purpose of this prayer service, which follows a three-day fast, is to call forth the Holy Spirit to strike the opponents of progressives in Taraba and throughout our beloved nation of Nigeria.

The church is trying to get the Holy Spirit to rise up against people who are committing crimes in Nigerian society and doing everything they can to keep Nigerians divided.

The religious leader also scowled at those pushing for a religious unity ticket in the 2023 elections. claiming that if such a plan were to become reality, Nigeria as a whole would perish.

It would even "go as far as promoting dissension among adherents of the two major religions in Nigeria," he emphasised.

Some worshipers who spoke with DAILY POST about the purpose of the Special prayer session claimed that the continued daily killings in Taraba and the rest of the nation made the notion imperative.

For a free, fair, and reliable general election the following year, they contend that praying to God for help has become vital.
