On Tuesday, Nnamdi Kanu, the imprisoned leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), responded to Justice Binta Nyako's decision of an Abuja Federal High Court to deny his bail application.
Kanu claimed that the decision by Justice Nyako to deny him bail was "anticipated."
The IPOB leader called on the Southeast's residents to "stay calm" and maintain peace after Tuesday's court hearing.
It's what we expected, he said. But I want everyone in our group to be really calm. I want Biafranland to be extremely quiet and serene. Not to kill our people, but to defend them, is why we are fighting.
"I'm here because we're fighting to defend them. And we'll keep doing it until we succeed.
