Suicide: APC Chairman allegedly hanged himself with his belt in Kogi NSCDC cell

When the officers arrived to start interrogation, he had committed himself by hanging himself with his belt.

Bunmi David Ipinnaiye, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ponyan Ward, Yagba East Local Government Area, has died.

Ipinnaiye is said to have committed suicide in a Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) cell.

The (NSCDC) officers and men arrested Ipinnaiye for the attempted murder of his son, who was claimed to be fraternising with some youngsters who are supposedly involved in social vices, according to our source.

It was also learned that the deceased had assaulted his son with a machete on their trip to the property, and that the incident was reported to the Civil Defense, leading to his detention.

According to sources who talked to bendelnews on the condition of anonymity, the late APC Chairman refused to react to questions during questioning and was locked up in one of the security outfit's rooms.

Attempts to confirm the event with Alex Agiri, the Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC's Kogi State Command, were unsuccessful because his phone was switched off.
