The Explosive Ordinance Device Unit (anti-bomb squad) of the Ondo State Commissioner of Police has been dispatched to the scene of the explosion in the state's Owo Local Government Area.
Funmilayo Odunlami, the command's spokesperson, said this in an Akure statement on Sunday.

On Sunday, an explosion occurred at the St Francis Catholic Church on Owa-luwa Street in Owo.
According to the DAILY POST, several persons were murdered or injured as a result of the attack on the church grounds.
The CP stated that efforts were being stepped up to apprehend individuals responsible for the crime.
"The command is aware of the Owo attack; we will provide you with complete details of the situation later," she stated.
As a result, she advised the people of the state to be calm, noting that all security agencies are now working to maintain peace in the region.
