Organ Harvesting: Ohanaeze writes UK Embassy, issues warning to blackmailers.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, the youth arm of the leading Igbo socio-cultural group, has once more entered the hotly debated issue surrounding the imprisonment of former Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu and his wife Beatrie.

According to the DAILY POST, the couple is being detained in the UK on suspicion of allegedly harvesting organs.

OYC had earlier advised caution and a halt to the Senator's social media trail.

In an open letter to the UK Embassy, the group is now pleading for the release of the Senator's wife at the very least so that she can care for their ill daughter.

The Ohanaeze teenagers claimed in their plea, which was made accessible to DAILY POST on Sunday, that it was now obvious that the Ekweremadus had saved their daughter's life by following a predetermined procedure rather than engaging in any questionable business dealings.

Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, President-General of Ohanaeze Youths, and Comrade Obinna Achionye, Secretary-General, both signed the letter of appeal.

We believe it is necessary to make an open appeal to the UK Embassy in Nigeria in light of recent developments in the matter involving Senator Ike Ekweremadu and his wife, who are both true sons and daughters of Igbo nation.

"It is now obvious that the couple had no ill intentions, in contrast to early reports that saturated the media.

"We felt it important to issue this appeal since we could tell they had no other goal in mind but to save the life of their daughter. Nobody will stand by and watch their kid die without trying, after all.

"We beg the United Kingdom to investigate the implications of holding the husband and wife, through its embassy here in Nigeria.

We request that one of them be freed so that they can attend to the sick youngster who urgently needs medical attention, the group stated.

They also denounced fifth columnists for allegedly using the name of the purported victim of organ harvesting, David Nwamini, to construct false accounts.

According to OYC, "we noticed that no fewer than five phoney Facebook accounts have been created with the profile of the purported victim during the last 48 hours.

"Given that they have continued to publish using the aforementioned unverified accounts, this is without a doubt the work of blackmailers.

The posts include false claims and accusations that are obviously the work of political rivals and are all intended to bring the senator to justice.

If they don't stop their bad deeds, it's just a matter of time before their identities are revealed.

The general public is urged to disregard those posts because Senator Ike Ekweremadu and his wife will undoubtedly be exonerated in the end and their reputations will remain untarnished.
