Nigeria Army: Sokoto troops arrest foreign terrorists' informant.

On May 21, troops of Operation Hadarin Daji captured one Jabe Buba, a foreigner and renowned terrorist informant, near Garuwa village in Tambuwal Local Government Area of Sokoto State, according to Defence Headquarters.

The Director, Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. Bernard Onyeuko, said this in Abuja while briefing journalists on military operations across Nigeria between May 19 and June 2.

Buba's mobile was found with images and video of him posing with firearms in the forest, according to Onyeuko, and a sum of N130,000 was recovered from him during the operation.

During an encounter with terrorists at Dampo village in Zamfara's Bakura Local Government Area, the army also rescued 292 animals and one camel, according to him.

Onyeuko said the army neutralised a kidnapping gang leader and two others clothed in military clothing along the Zakibiam-Ugba road in Benue and rescued one victim during Operation Whirl Stroke.

One Toyota Corolla vehicle, three fully filled magazines (90 rounds of 7.62mm special), one AK 47 rifle, and an ATM card bearing Felix Terzenqwe were among the goods seized, according to him.

Mr Morris Ayitu, a notorious gun runner, was detained, along with his wife and an accomplice, after a raid at his home in Abirisi, in the Guma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, according to Onyeuko.
