Mbaka disowns 'Elijah's threats'' and Adoration Ministry's plan to kill Bishop Onaga.

There are no plans to attack Bishop Callistus Onaga of the Enugu Diocese, according to Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria (AMEN).

One of the parishioners, later named as Elijah, threatened to assassinate Bishop Callistus Onaga of the Enugu Catholic Diocese for closing the Adoration Ministry in a viral video taken during a recent protest by members of Mbaka's Adoration Ministry. Onaga Must Go was another slogan the protesting parishioners were heard screaming.

The Pope has previously expressed his disapproval of the development.

According to DAILY POST, Bishop Onaga had the ministry's operations suspended following Mbaka's outburst in which he referred to Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party's presidential candidate, as a "stingy man."

In contrast, Mbaka claimed in a live video posted to the ministry's Facebook page that the Adoration ministry had no plans to assault the Bishop and that he was currently on a personal retreat as a result of the controversy surrounding his outbursts.

He claims that the alleged Elijah, who threatened Bishop Onaga with death, is a known psychiatric patient and shouldn't be taken seriously.

"I want to offer a disclaimer regarding the rumours that are circulating that Adoration members planned to attack Bishop Onaga," he added.

It's not accurate. Elijah, the person who uttered the potentially harmful speech, is a confirmed and accredited patient in a mental health facility.

"Elijah was previously naked, but now, by the grace of God, he is clothed. He has a reputation for making threats even though he never follows through. That is how he personally earns money from people.

Elijah even made death threats against me if I didn't make him the chairman of every local government in Enugu State by using force and prayer.

Elijah aspires to lead all 17 local governments as their chairman. This describes him as a person. Even worse, he threatened to kill me unless I appointed him president.

He has repeatedly stated his desire to succeed Bishop Onaga as the bishop of the Diocese of Enugu.

Can you trust this individual with his words? There was no attempt or plan from the Adoration Ministry to harm the Bishop. I wash my hands of that, whoever is thinking it.
