After being awarded Manchester United Player of the Season by fans, Cristiano Ronaldo expressed his gratitude to them for their support throughout what he described as a "very challenging" season.
After scoring 24 goals for United in 38 games in all competitions during the previous season, the 37-year-old was presented with the honour that is now known as the Sir Matt Busby award.
The captain of Portugal also concluded the season as the third-highest scorer in the Premier League with 18 goals, trailing only Son Heung-min and Mohamed Salah, who each tallied 23 points.
Despite this, the Red Devils finished the season with the fewest points they have ever accumulated in the Premier League.
Ronaldo thanked all of his supporters on Instagram for voting for him and congratulated himself on his most recent accomplishments.
The fact that I won the Sir Matt Busby Award in the same year that I returned to Old Trafford and the Premier League is something of which I am really proud.
"During a particularly trying season, this honour is dedicated to all of the fans who have never failed to come through for us." We are extremely grateful that you have always been on our side and that you have assisted us in getting Manchester United back on track. We are aware that we can rely on you.
