Anti-graft War:Baraza: EFCC has named Christ Embassy Pastor Miebi Bribena and his wife as suspects in a N2 billion fraud.

Onyinmiebi (Miebi Baraza) and Beatrice Bribena have been proclaimed wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The anti-graft agency issued a warning for anyone with information on them to contact any of its offices across Nigeria.

The duo is being sought by the agency for alleged N2 billion fraud.

Baraza Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited is promoted by the Bribenas.

"We are committed to enhancing members' lives through financial empowerment, business financing, thrift and credit, housing, scholarship, and other means," the organization's profile states.

Bribena is the pastor at Christ Embassy Church, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader in Bayelsa State.

He is accused of defrauding tens of billions of naira by offering a monthly return on investment of 25%.

The victims visited the company's headquarters on Otiotio Road in Yenagoa several times in 2021, requesting a refund. The building has been shut by the EFCC.
The company also has offices in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State, and other parts of the country.

Baraza had told investors that it was trading with their money on forex platforms, but that it had to halt because it couldn't afford to pay returns.

Bribena posted a video last July to dispel rumours that his health and business were failing.

"Ignore such information. Is it now, if I haven't fainted since, that I will faint? "I'm not sure if some folks are upset that Baraza could come back," he remarked.
