The head of the APC's screening panel, John Oyegun, has explained why several presidential candidates were rejected on Friday.
At least ten males were barred from running in the ruling party's primary.
"The point I want to make is the calibre of the people who want to lead this country," Oyegun told APC national chairman Abdullahi Adamu while presenting a report to hi
"Because we are a ruling party, we established a shortlist based on the ability to lead, background, and experience."
"I'm not going to read the names; I'll leave that to you, but we were able to reduce the number to 13."
"We could have made it a little shorter, but we wanted to show off the younger elements."
The presidential candidates that did not make the cut have yet to be revealed.
