#Ukraine #War: EU seeks Russian oil ban.

In the midst of the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, the European Union (EU) has recommended a ban on Russian oil.

On Thursday morning, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen revealed this in a message via her Twitter handle.

"Finally, we recommend a ban on Russian oil," she stated. Let's be clear: it won't be simple. But all we have to do now is work on it.

"We will ensure that Russian oil is phased out in a systematic manner." To put as much pressure on Russia as possible while limiting the damage to our economies."

"We want Ukraine to win this war," Leyen stated. Yet there is so much that has to be rebuilt. That is why I propose that we begin working on a comprehensive recovery plan for our Ukrainian compatriots.

"This package should result in significant investment in order to satisfy the needs and implement the necessary reforms."

Remember that Russia and Ukraine went to war in February of this year.

Since President Vladimir Putin authorised the invasion of Ukraine owing to political differences, the two neighbours have been battling for more than two months.

Many casualties have been recorded as a result of the war until this day.
