Bishop David Oyedepo, the president of Living Faith Church, also known as Winners Chapel Worldwide, has stated that anyone who dares to "marry man and man" in his church will not enter the kingdom of God, according to the pastor.
Despite his disapproval of gay marriage, the cleric asserted that God created men and women in order to replenish the earth.
Speaking at a programme held at the Church's headquarters on Monday, Oyedepo emphasised that no government policy can overrule his religious beliefs under any circumstances.
"Don't tell me I believe everything in the Bible. What, specifically, are the fundamental principles in which you believe? Do you believe in the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ? If so, what are your beliefs? Do you believe in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ? You believe in the rapture, don't you? Do you believe in the institution of marriage between a man and a woman? not between males and females, but between males and males?
"Until Jesus returns, anyone who dares to marry a man and a man in this church will not enter the kingdom of heaven." No policy of any government under heaven has the authority to overrule my religious beliefs. What I believe, I believe wholeheartedly.
