Kanu Nwankwo Has Disclosed Reasons Behind His Visit To Ahmed Tinubu

Kanu Nwankwo, a former Super Eagles footballer, has revealed that his support for him stems from the kindness of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the ex-Governor of Lagos State and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

According to the former international, he and his colleagues just went to Tinubu's house to celebrate the APC leader's 70th birthday and the novelty match.

Kanu's and other former players' visit to Tinubu on Saturday received a lot of interest on social media.

The visit was prompted by hunger on the part of the ex-players, according to some Nigerians, including Omoyele Sowore, a presidential candidate on the platform of the African Action Congress, AAC.

In a video broadcast on his social media accounts, Tinubu said in an attempt to explain the purpose for his visit that he had previously been a pillar of his foundation.

"Please pay attention to what others are saying. I'm not a politician; I'm a proud footballer; I'm a legend. I understand what is good and what is not.

"Kanu Heart Foundation was asking for people to support us 22 years ago. Only three governors have been appointed. One of them was Ahmed Tinubu.

"He provided funding for the foundation's initial operations. He backed us up. It is currently his 70th birthday. Why not? We owe it to him to show our support.
