Bandits raid Katsina village, kidnap 50

Terrorists stormed Ruwan Godiya Village in Katsina State's Faskari Local Government Area, abducting no fewer than 50 people.

According to a source in the village, the bandits arrived on around 60 motorcycles and began shooting intermittently for over two hours. According to the source, approximately twenty military soldiers were in the area at the time of the assault, but they made no move to repel the invaders.

Even before they came, we heard about their plan to attack and we informed security personnel, but unfortunately they came around 7:30pm and they were there in the town for over two hours.

They injured three persons but none was killed. However, they abducted over 50 people after looting some valuables, including clothing materials,” the source said

Soldiers from the Sheme side of the local government area, according to another resident, noticed the attackers crossing the road with the kidnapped people but did not attempt to rescue them.

The latest incidence occurs only one day after gunmen raided the Yandaka Market in the Batsari Local Government Area, stealing all domestic animals brought to the market for sale. Last Wednesday, bandits carried out a terrible raid on Illela Village and its environs, killing at least 12 people.
