Nigeria and 11 other African countries have their flight restrictions lifted by the UAE.

On Saturday, January 29, the United Arab Emirate stated that the ban on flights from Nigeria and 11 other African countries will be lifted.

The UAE's National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) said flight arrivals from countries such as Botswana, Congo Republic, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Kenya, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe can continue once the embargo was lifted.

The statement read;

“The excluded categories should present a negative COVID-19 test obtained within 48 hours of departure and a Rapid-PCR test at the airport within six hours of departure whenever possible and another PCR test at the airport upon arrival to UAE.

NCEMA also announced on Wednesday, January 26 that entry procedures for flights departing from Ghana, Rwanda, and Uganda have been modified.

When visiting the UAE, passengers must do a PCR test 48 hours before departure, test at the departure airport if possible, test on arrival, and follow all preventive precautions.

By 2.30 p.m. on Saturday, the new rules will be in effect.
