Cheslie Kryst, Miss USA 2019, died at the age of 30 after falling from her high-rise apartment in New York City.

Cheslie's body was discovered on the sidewalk outside the Orion Condominium building in Manhattan at 7:05 a.m. on Sunday, January 30.

The revelation was confirmed by the attorney's grieving family to The Hollywood Reporter on Sunday, and the New York Department later confirmed that she died by suicide.

"Her bright light was one that inspired others throughout the world with her beauty and resilience," her family said in a statement. She was a woman who cared, loved, laughed, and shone.

"Whether it was as an attorney fighting for social justice, as Miss USA, or as a personality on ExtraTV, Cheslie exemplified love and served others.

"But most significantly, we know her effect will continue on as a daughter, sister, friend, mentor, and colleague."

Cheslie was last seen on a 29th-floor patio of the building alone, according to the New York Post. Her apartment was on the ninth floor.

She allegedly wrote a note stating that she was giving her mother all of her stuff.

Cheslie had shared a snapshot of herself on Instagram with the comment "May this day bring you rest and tranquilly" just hours before she died.

"Our hearts are devastated," Extra, where Cheslie had been a journalist since October 2019, said in a statement.

"Cheslie was not only an important element of our show, but she was also a valued member of our Extra family who had an impact on the entire crew." We send our heartfelt condolences to her entire family and friends."

Cheslie was crowned Miss North Carolina in 2019 and went on to be crowned Miss USA. Later in the year, she finished in the top ten at Miss Universe.
