Calum Chambers, an Arsenal defender, has joined Aston Villa.
As Steven Gerrard restructures his squad, Chambers joins Philippe Coutinho, Lucas Digne, and Robin Olsen at Birmingham City.
The 27-year-old has the ability to play both centre defence and right back.
At Villa Park, he signed a three-and-a-half-year contract.
"It's a fantastic club and they're at a terrific moment at the moment," Chambers told Aston Villa's website.
"From the outside, everyone can tell that it's a very exciting place to be." Things are occurring here, and they are progressing in the correct direction.
"Joining a fantastic club was a no-brainer for me. It was the proper decision on my part. It's a fantastic club with a huge following. I've played a few times at Villa Park, and it's a fantastic stadium with fantastic fans.
"The manager performed a fantastic job at Rangers." I'm looking forward to working with him because he's a youthful, energetic manager.
"It's an exciting time to be joining the club." The club is gaining traction, and it's an exciting time to be a part of it. When you're in and around the building, you can definitely sense it. The enthusiasm in the room is palpable.
"I feel like I came at the right time, and I'm excited to get started and give it my all."
