Attorney-General Malami Responds To A Fake Police Officer's Claims That He Was Associated With The Raid On Justice Odili's Residence

Mr. Abubakar Malami, Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, who was fingered by one of the individuals apprehended in connection with the illegal raid on the residence of Supreme Court Judge Mary Odili, has responded to the allegations levelled against him.

Malami claimed that only bad minds would believe that he hired a quack or a fictitious police officer to serve as a consultant for his project.

In his words, his accuser's allegations resembled the story of a drowning guy searching for the body of a dying spouse.

The AGF made this statement in response to a confession made by a suspect apprehended in connection with the invasion of the residence of Supreme Court Justice, Mary Peter Odili, in Lagos.

Umar Gwandu, speaking on behalf of Malami on Thursday, said that with all of the qualified professionals at Malami's disposal, it is only evil minds that would believe Malami had hired "a quack or fake police officer to serve as his consultant." Malami has previously stated that he does not believe the AGF has hired "a quack or fake police officer to serve as his consultant."

The Minister stated that an investigation had been launched to uncover the circumstances behind the invasion as well as the personalities behind the sponsored campaign of defamation against him.

In order to create unneeded disputes and public fear, this is a well-coordinated effort.

"We demanded that the suspect produce documentation pertaining to engagements in which he served as a consultant to the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Minister of Justice, whether in the past or current."
