President Buhari has stated that his government is tracking the sponsors of separatist leaders Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Igboho, as well as a serving member of the National Assembly.
President made this claim during his 37-minute speech on Friday to commemorate Nigeria's 61st anniversary of independence.
According to The Present, "the recent arrests of Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Igboho Adeyemo, as well as the ongoing investigations, have revealed certain high-profile financiers behind these persons."
“We would be pursuing these financiers aggressively, including one who has been identified as a member of the national legislature.
Nnamdi Kanu is presently in the captivity of the Department of State Service (DSS) facing charges, whereas the his Yoruba compatriot, Sunday Igboho, is in Beninese prison due to a delay caused by a holiday taken by judges in Benin Republic.
