Nigerian self-determination groups, including Yoruba Nation and Biafra agitators, have stated that the Nigerian government will not be able to stop Friday's protest at the United Nations Headquarters in New York (tomorrow).
Prof Banji Akintoye, the Chairman of the Nigerian Indigenous Nationalities Alliance for Self-Determination, revealed this in a statement on Thursday, accusing President Muhammadu Buhari's administration of sponsoring a counter-protest.
The group also called Nigeria's 1999 Constitution a sham against the people of the South and Middle Belt, claiming that "it was enacted without the consent of the people."
The agitators insisted that the NINAS Million-Man Freedom March's Grand Finale take place on September 24, 2021, the day President Muhammad Buhari will address the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
In a statement released to journalists by the NINAS Director of Public Communications, Mr. Maxwell Adeleye, Akintoye said that no matter how hard the Nigerian government tries to stop the NINAS Grand March, the people's will will triumph.
“We refuse to be rattled,” he said. We are not going to be intimidated. No oppressor has ever triumphed over the people's collective will. The people are the government, and the people have power. The Constitution is created by the people. The people are the ones who own the sovereignty. The people hold the key to our own strength. As a result, the focus of our March will be on the people. As is customary, it will be peaceful.
“Most folks of the South and Middle Belt in the United States and Canada are urged to gather in large numbers on Friday, September 24, 2021, in front of the United Nations Headquarters in New York, to demonstrate and expose the Fulani-controlled Nigerian government's rape of our ancestral land and hijacking of our assets and sovereignty before the world.
