Maj.-Gen. Christopher Musa, the Theatre Commander for Operation Hadin Kai, has described the Islamic States West African Province (ISWAP) as "terrorists on their way to invade our country." The Army Chief, on the other hand, stated that the Nigerian military will not allow a foreign terrorist group to establish strongholds in the country. Musa stated this in a press conference on Wednesday in Maiduguri, Borno State.

He also labeled ISWAP as a foreign terrorist organization financed by foreigners. Despite the fact that the terrorist organisation receives support from Nigerians, he claims that the terrorist group's leadership is foreign. “It is apparent that ISWAP are foreigners attempting to infiltrate our country, which we would never allow to happen,” he stated.
Which is why I want to encourage those who are with them, particularly those who are members, to step back and understand that they have no stake in what those guys are doing. Iswap don't care about the country, and they don't care about themselves, so we'll never let a foreigner step foot on Nigerian soil."
