Today, in Abuja, the Army, Police, and Civil Defence operatives displayed yet another act of heartlessness. Sheikh (Ibraheem) El-supporters Zakzaky's began an Arba'een procession from Gwarinpa model city's gate to the main bus stop, where it was terminated.

"Arbaeen is a global event that began yesterday (Monday) and concluded peacefully. Today is the last day of the trek, and we came out to finish it. "We came to a halt at the second gate, and the game was over. Unfortunately, around 10:00 a.m., a combined team of police and soldiers arrived. The police were in front, and the soldiers were behind them, and the police began firing tear gas while the soldiers fired live ammunition.

"The evil they inflicted was of a different caliber. First, they sprayed people with tear gas before opening fire with live ammunition, killing a large number of people. Eight people were confirmed dead, tens of thousands were injured, and dozens were arrested."

Despite the attack, he said the movement remained committed and focused, and that the Arba'een Symbolic trek could not be stopped by any security agent or government.
He went on to say that the purpose of the procession was to remember and experience the trials and tribulations endured by the Household of the Holy Prophet.
