#Nigeria: FG To Take Appropriate Action Against Indonesia As Enyoy Is Recalled


 Nigerians, including former diplomats, expressed their anger on Tuesday over a trending video showing how some immigration officials attacked a Nigerian diplomat in Jakarta, Indonesia's capital, as the federal government announced the removal of Nigeria's ambassador to the country, Usman Ogar .

 The diplomat appeared to be in pain when steadfast Indonesian immigration officials pressed his head to a car seat, could be heard screaming, "I can't breathe."

 Diplomats reprimand Indonesia A former Nigerian ambassador to Mexico, Ogbole Amedu Odeh, described the attack as a violation of the Vienna Convention. He said: “The (foreign affairs) minister has already shot from the hip; Therefore, Indonesians know that they must do what is necessary because what their officials did against the Nigerian public service official goes against the letter and spirit of the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic and Consular Rules, which specifically states that the person of a diplomat is inviolable .

 "Submitting diplomats to such an act is contrary to the wording and spirit of this convention, which is  essentially the bible of diplomacy. Nigeria is proceeding cautiously by requiring the Indonesian authorities to intervene or Nigeria could be forced to act.
