#Adamawa: Real reasons why the adamawa business man was Jailed revealed

li Yakubu Numan, a businessman, was convicted and sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison by a Yola Chief Magistrate Court II, presided over by Magistrate Japhet Basani, for calling Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri the "Father of all Thieves."

Numan was sentenced to two years in prison and a N50,000 fine on Wednesday for using abusive words against Fintiri. He was also sentenced to six months in prison without the possibility of a fine for disturbing the peace.

Following his arraignment for defamation by the Attorney General of the Adamawa state, a businessman who called Governor Fintiri "a thief and father of all thieves" was placed in prison detention, according to the sources.


Numan had written and published derogatory words in Hausa and Fulfulde languages against the governor on his Facebook page on the 11th, 12th, 13th, 17th, 20th, and 29th of July 2021.In the article, he called Governor Fintiri "a thief and the father of all thieves in Nigeria," claiming that he stole indomie, spaghetti, and hundreds of billions of naira from state coffers. A. M. Iliyasu and M.A. Adamu, the complainant's attorneys, had previously called two witnesses who testified in court and presented confessional statements in both English and Hausa languages, among other exhibits.

R. N. Agav, attorney for the now-convicted prisoner, pleaded with the court to temper justice with mercy.
