Transfer: Kepa of Chelsea to make shocking switch to a new team.

Kepa Arrizabalaga, the goalkeeper for Chelsea, is expected to make a shocking transfer to Nice from Stamford Bridge.

Foot Mercato reports that the French Ligue 1 team is interested in loaning out Kepa after the Spaniard lost his job at Stamford Bridge.

Nice have emerged as a potential destination for Kepa, who is also being pursued by Italian and Spanish clubs. Kepa cost Chelsea £71.6 million in 2018.

Kepa only appeared on the field 15 times for Chelsea last season after Edouard Mendy took over as the team's starting goalkeeper.

Kepa's international career has been negatively impacted by this, and he won't play for Spain again until October 2020.

Kepa will need to have more consistent playing time at the start of the following season if he wants to be a part of Luis Enrique's preparations for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar this winter.

After joining the Blues from Athletic Bilbao a few years ago, Kepa was Chelsea's first choice for two seasons. However, a string of mistakes and form issues caused him to be replaced by Mendy in the 2020–21 season.

Only 14 appearances in that season and 15 in the most recent one were made by the 27-year-old.
